A Wi-Fi Tablet Reviewed: The Dell Streak 7
People who possessed laptop computers initially gave the iPad an unenthusiastic reception, not recognizing the capabilities of the innovative gadget. Then people quickly started to realize the true use of the iPad.
As the market caught on and Apple’s accountants started rubbing their hands with glee, the other big computer and mobile phone companies sat up and took note. All of a sudden, Tablets were in all the retail outlets. Not surprisingly, Dell is trying to find its piece of the pie. That is the reason they created the Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi Tablet. Whether this device makes the grade and is worth the money is what we are going to try to find out in this article.
It’s simpler to recommend a device when the company that manufactures it has a good name – that, however, is not the case with Dell. Dell isn’t recognized for the quality of the products it puts out on the market.. And as for the company’s customer service: well, let’s just put it this way: if it had a prize shelf, it would not be loaded with consumer accolades. From customer feedback, it seems that once your warranty runs out, you are going to get a bill for contacting customer support. Thus, while this tablet is likely going to be one of the inexpensive tablets on the market, you must take a moment to think about who you will be paying that money to.
This tablet from Dell uses the Android OS (this version is affectionately called Froyo), which means that it should let you multitask between several apps pretty easily. You can listen to Mp3s, keep your GPS data up-to-date, and be notified of different things through the system’s notification service without being constrained to keep any specific program open and running. Acquaintances and business contacts will constantly be able to keep in touch with you on your tablet because it gives you access to your email accounts, including Gmail, fairly easily.
A great feature of the Dell Streak 7 tablet compared with the first iPad is video chat. Video chat is built-in to the Dell Streak 7 tablet via a front-facing panel camera and Qik software. But oh dear, yes, there is a caveat: someone who owns the same Streak 7 tablet, or something compatible, presents no problem – otherwise, incommunicado you will be. So video chatting with people who are using other platforms is not ensured. The integrated On Demand service offered by Blockbuster is a positive for the Dell Streak 7 tablet. Admittedly, however, Blockbuster’s recent issues have made us think twice about recommending the tablet.
Until now, there aren’t a lot of reviews about this specific product although some people are curious to know what the point of this product might really be. The device’s functionality is severely limited through it not being able to able to interact with other devices that aren’t compatible with it. However, if you think you’re missing out and you are interested to see whether tablets are actually the thing for you, this tablet is a low-cost way for you to figure it out. Just make certain you are aware of what you are paying for before you actually send your money to Dell.
Once you get your new tablet you will want to copy some games for it. So, I’ve got a feeling you’d be curious about a product like Copy That Game. At the very least you need to read a Copy That Game review and specifics of a Copy That Game bonus.
