An Overview of the Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard – Go Through Brief Assessment To Help Answer Your Own Questions
The Rii Mini Keyboard is exactly what it states on the packaging, a mini keyboard. When I say mini keyboard, I am naturally referring to the size of the device, as it’s not the same size as a normal PC keyboard. Measuring only 5.9×2.3×0.5 inches, the Rii is a dwarf compared with the standard 18 inches by 2 inches by 8 inches – and it’s a lightweight at 3.2 ounces. It’s light and really small, which makes it great for those who are on the move because it’s so convenient to bring with you. Typing is quite easy on this small device, which fits snugly between your hands.
The Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard is fantastic for using with your laptop or PC, as well as your PS3 or any other gaming system that supports this keyboard. Wires are redundant with this mini keyboard’s wireless capability, supplied by a Bluetooth USB receiver, so you can easily connect to other wireless electronic devices. This mini keyboard comes with the familiar laptop type of touchpad, and also full QWERTY capability. There are also 26 LED lights built into this product for when the immediate lighting is dim. The keyboard is provided standard with two rechargeable lithium ion batteries, which allows it to run.
The majority of reviewers on Amazon (of which there are plenty) have given 4 and 5 star ratings to this device. But maybe this unit’s first appearances are misleading, since there are also a number of ratings falling between 1 and 3 stars. One observation was that the device didn’t work well with an Ubuntu system beyond a range of 30 feet, but it was very good within that. On the other hand, a range of 30 ft is fairly good. A delightful feature for a person with a multimedia application is that provison is made for control of a playlist and volume as well. Sometimes, one wants a button that is not typically needed; it’s good that this mini keyboard caters for some of those infrequent needs which can be frustrating if not met.
Of Course, this review would be incomplete if it did not mention the downsides. This unit’s touchpad appears similar to that of a laptop, but it’s not as exact, which makes it vexing at times. Another pain in the neck – which can be circumvented by using the mouse buttons for left and right instead – is that the touchpad is a bit insensitive to tapping. Also bear in mind that whilst it does have the QWERTY layout, the keys are arranged in a grid with straight lines vertically and horizontally, whereas traditional keyboards have a bit of an offset in the vertical grids. It’s not a real hassle, however; one gets used to it quite fast.
If you are searching for a mini keyboard that features a touch pad, you don’t have to look further than the Rii Wireless Keyboard. Overall, the upsides greatly overshadow the few downsides, and the price is excellent.
