A Brief Overview of the Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard – Read Short Summary To Reply Your Own Questions
As shown on the packaging, the Rii is a mini keyboard. Obviously, I’m pertaining to the size in comparison to a typical computer keyboard – and it’s a great deal smaller. Most regular computer keyboard are roughly 18x2x8 inches, however this keyboard is a mere 5.9×2.3×0.5 inches and weighs a mere 3.2 ounces. It’s not merely tiny but it’s also lightweight, making it good for carrying around or for keeping it in a bag when you need it on the move. Since it’s compact, the Rii is handheld, but it provides for pleasantly easy typing.
You can use the Rii with gaming systems like PS3 or wiki, and with desktop computers and laptops. Wires are redundant with this mini keyboard’s wireless capability, supplied by a Bluetooth USB receiver, so you can easily connect to other wireless electronic devices. The Rii features the familiar QWERTY layout, as well as the convenience of a touchpad like those we know from laptops. There are also 26 LED lights built into this mini keyboard for when the immediate lighting is not bright enough. This device is furnished standard with two rechargeable lithium ion batteries, which power it up.
Most of the reviewers on Amazon (of which there are many) have granted 4 and 5 star ratings to the Rii. But perhaps this device’s first appearances are misleading, since there are as well a number of ratings falling between 1 and 3 stars. A top range of 30 ft for working fairly well with his Ubuntu system was noted by one user. Then again, a range of 30 ft is fairly good. Both playlist and volume button controls are present on this device, which is great if the planned use is multimedia in character. This keyboard also conveniently includes other buttons, which although not often used, are nice when you do need them.
Of Course, this review would be incomplete if it did not bring up the negatives. The touchpad works rather well; however, it can be a bit of a nuisance as it isn’t always precise, unlike most typical laptop touchpads. Besides, taps are not always recognized by the touchpad – but this can be avoided by rather using the left and right mouse buttons. It also bears noting that the keys are directly underneath each other, and not 50% offset as we are accustomed to with the larger keyboards. It’s no big deal, however; you’ll get accustomed to it rather quickly.
All in all, the Rii is a great keyboard if you’re in the market for a smaller size that also has a mouse touchpad. The price is terrific, and the many pluses make the few downsides seem petty.
