Mouse Control Tips
Mice are a typical rodent in the home. They are far smaller than rats but could cause just as much damage. House mice live in all sorts of conditions in the home. Mice are a nuisance to anyone who has an infestation because they eat food that is intended for consumption by both humans and pets. Mice also cause contamination of surfaces and food in the home thru their feces which contain bacteria like Salmonella that results in food poisoning. Mouse control tips will not only help you forestall food poisoning but will also help you forestall damage to your property caused by the constant gnawing of mice.
Effective mouse control needs the power to recognise mice infestations. Droppings are the most blatant sign of an infestation. You can simply trace where the mice are most active by the gnawing marks on furniture, kitchen ware and other material. Mice typically construct their nests in hidden places using shredded paper and varied other kinds of fibrous material.
There are 3 general steps to effective mouse control. The 1st step is the practice of good sanitation. To prevent a mouse infestation, make sure that your home is kept clean. The second step in mouse control involves ensuring that mice do not have access to your house. This is commonly known as mouse proofing. This involves sealing all openings through which mice are probably going to enter the home. Mouse proofing involves sealing cracks and open spaces around pipes, vents and wires. This can require using sheet metal, concrete and other products to stuff spaces like steel wool and knitted copper mesh.
The third step in mouse control is disposing of mice that are in the home. There are numerous methods of effectively disposing of mice. These techniques include the employment of snap traps and poison. Snap traps are very efficient as they kill the mice immediately and don’t allow the mice to mooch off and die in hidden parts of the home.
You may also choose to use dogs or cats to help with mouse control. These animals not only offer control against pests but also offer the residents of the home with friendship.
